It’s my pleasure to visit the website of Marine
Academy, Bangladesh. The Marine Academy was established in 1962 for
pre-sea training for cadet joining sea going vessels. As the time
passed by, a revolutionary change took place in shipping
technology resulting in adoption of new IMO convention, |
|
enhancing maritime safety and security, keeping pace with the changes and international
requirements. Academy introduced various post sea and ancillary
preparatory courses. Our training has been modified by introducing ICT
based equipment to face the challenges of new era following the
STCW-95 convention of IMO.
The marine academy is equipped with excellent training facilities and
is therefore capable of providing quality training of international standard
to the undertrainees. As recognition the academy thus became a
Branch of World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden in 1990.
Bangladesh was placed in the “White List” published by IMO in 2000.
The key to success in Marine Academy was achieved by developing the
training technology to be at synchro with the changing requirement
in the maritime field.
The cadets passed out from the Academy are employed in various type of
merchant ships owned by national and foreign flag career.
Their participation in safe manning of world fleet is well
appreciated.
The marine Academy is committed to quality training and provides 2
years pre-sea training in Nautical & Engineering branches and
various other post sea courses are also periodically conducted here
to meet the ever increasing demand of trained sea farer. Side by
side cadets are also provided Bachelor of Maritime Science degree, a
3 years course under the auspices of National University. As such
Marine Academy is affiliated with National University for conducting
this program.
I strongly believe that reputable foreign ship owners, ship
managers/ Operators should visit Bangladesh Marine Academy to see
the training facilities and program to avail the services of the
trained sea-farers for safe
manning operation of their fleet.
